This news is based on the following article: Forns J, Dadvand P, Foraster M, et al.Traffic-related air pollution, noise at school, and behavioral problems in Barcelona schoolchildren: a cross-sectional study. Environ Health Perspect 2016; 124: 529-35.doi: 10.1289/ehp.1409449
This cross-sectional study in Barcelona is the first to assess the impact of urban air pollution on children's behavior, by measuring their exposure inside schools where they spend a considerable amount of time. Background noise from traffic was also examined. The results suggest that schoolchildren's exposure to traffic noise is harmful and call for further investigation.
