Service de Neurochirurgie, Hôpital Sainte Anne, Paris

This article aims to address a number of questions relating to how epileptic adult patients view neurosurgical treatment. Numerous studies of both a descriptive and statistical nature have been undertaken regarding the psychological difficulties associated with drug-resistant partial epilepsy. This paper attempts to identify a framework which could complement them. The psychological management of our patients needs to take into account the individual nature of their different psychological disorders. Furthermore, we propose a specific psychological management for both before and after neurosurgical intervention.
