Classic hand-foot-and-mouth disease (HFMD), in which vesicular eruption is localized to the oral cavity, hands, and feet, is predominantly caused by coxsackievirus (CV)-A16 and enterovirus 71 [1, 2]. Atypical phenotype of HFMD associated with CV-A6 has recently been reported worldwide [3-7].
