A 56-year-old female patient was admitted in the hospital for fever and rectal bleeding. Abdominal CT-scan showed a 50-cm-infiltration of ileum. Blood smear revealed anemia at 89 g/L, platelet count at 79 × 109/L and hyperleukocytosis with 34 × 109/L white blood cells comprising 64% of blast cells. In the bone marrow aspirate, the blasts were cytologically identical to those seen in blood; they exhibited a hyperbasophilic cytoplasm with small clear vacuoles, and a round nucleus with stippled chromatin [...]
