A complete blood cell count was performed in an asymptomatic 85-year-old woman (T̊C: 37.6) hospitalized in a visceral surgery unit since two weeks. Blood sample was drawn from a central venous catheter (CVC), other access being not available. This exam showed a bicytopenia (haemoglobin: 92 g/L, platelets: 116 G/L) and a mild leukocytosis (leukocytes: 22.4 G/L).
