It is with great pleasure, as always…

European Journal of Dermatology. Volume 11, Numéro 1, 5, January - February 2001, Editorial

Summary

Auteur(s) : Jean THIVOLET, Dufourt 5F, CH Lyon Sud, 69495 Pierre-Bénite Cedex, France..

ARTICLE

It is with great pleasure, as always, that I sit down to write the editorial for the first issue of the year. The EJD Board met in Paris in December and the four editorial offices reported overall the same level of activity as in previous years, with an increase of articles submitted to the newest offices in Italy and Spain and an encouraging interest shown in the journal by American authors. The rejection rate of submitted manuscripts was 32% (although it is higher for clinical case reports and "Guess What" articles of which we receive many more than we can publish).

The EJD Book series is now being edited by Catherine Goujon and new books on "Ultraviolet radiations and skin", and "Urticaria" (in French) are in preparation. Proposed titles for the future include "Wound Healing" and "Cutaneous Aging". These books are aimed to be of wide interest - to specialists, general practioners, students and even patients and can be in English or French (or any other language). Ideas for future titles are welcome!

The Editors have decided that the number of issues of the Journal per year should be reduced to six, one appearing every two months. The overall number of pages per year will remain the same but publication at regular intervals will ensure a more consistent quality for our journal with better editorial follow-up and a clearer pattern for our subscribers. Our imaginative and creative readers are invited to continue submitting articles to the Editors: J Thivolet, JF Nicolas, R Happle, G Zambruno and J Mascaro.

To all our readers and authors, the whole world over, I wish an active and productive year 2001.
