Stem cells (SCs) have numerous potentially promising applications that have been reported over the last few years. In this issue of the European Journal of Dermatology, Niezgoda et al. summarise the most recent data on stem cells and their potential clinical application [1]. Special emphasis is made on adult or somatic SCs, which are usually of the uni- or multipotent type.
