During the last decade, the practice of tattooing has spread worldwide. Tattooing may be responsible for several cutaneous or, more rarely, systemic side effects. It is well known that this practice can transmit infectious agents such as HIV, hepatitis C and B virus, human papillomavirus (HPV), and poxvirus.
