A 65-year-old woman presented with multiple erythematous-crusted lesions on the right side of her scalp (figure 1A). Histological examination of a skin biopsy revealed an infiltrative, ulcerated basal cell carcinoma (BCC). The patient carried no mutation of the PTCH1 gene, excluding the diagnosis of Gorlin-Goltz syndrome.
