Acne is a very common inflammatory skin disorder of the pilosebaceous units that affects nearly all adolescents to varying degrees between the age of 15 and 17 years. Although often considered limited to teenagers, with a reported prevalence ranging from 68% to over 93% [1-4] at this age, acne continues to affect half of them in adulthood [1, 2].
