Alpha 1-antitrypsin (alpha1 AT) deficiency is one of the most common hereditary disorders of Caucasians and Europeans. We report the case of a 16-year-old girl who presented with panniculitis on her abdomen for 2 months. alpha1-antitrypsin level was found to be normal but M1S phenotype of alpha1-antitrypsin was determined by isoelectric focusing in polyacrylamide gel.
