Dermatomyositis (DM) is an idiopathic inflammatory myopathy with characteristic skin lesions. Several cases of dermatomyositis causing haemorrhagic myositis have been reported [1]. We report a 73-year-old Japanese man who presented with a three-month history of skin erythema with symmetric muscle weakness, who was diagnosed with dermatomyositis with anti-TIF1γ antibodies, which are known to be associated with cancer in the setting of DM [2].
