Experimental evidence, accumulated over the last few years, has confirmed the role of the cellular membrane as the main site for interaction with low frequency electric and magnetic fields. Signal transduction processes, mediated by second messengers such as cyclic AMP or Ca-ions, have been shown to be modulated by interaction of the field with components of the cell membrane e.g. receptor structures or ion channels [1-3].
