Early morphea can present as hyperpigmented, hypopigmented, erythematous, purplish patches, or telangiectatic erythema without any associated symptoms [1-5]. We describe six patients with localised morphea, initially presenting as severe painful erythema limited to the abdomen.The six patients were all elderly women (mean age: 64.2 years; range: 57-78 years).
