Desmoplastic fibroblastoma (DF) is a rare benign soft tissue tumour of fibroblastic/myofibroblastic origin [1]. It was previously referred to as collagenous fibroma by Nielsen et al. [2], but was renamed DF in 2002. Less than 100 cases have been reported in the English literature since then, with the largest series by Miettinen et al. [3].
