Cephalosporin antibiotics are widely prescribed for common bacterial infections and are one of the major causes of immunologically mediated adverse drug reactions. In contrast to delayed allergic reactions, immediate allergic reactions to cephalosporins are relatively rare. In addition, cross-reactivity among beta-lactam antibiotics, including cephalosporin and penicillin, has been reported in the literature [1-3].
