Sarcoidosis is characterized by the formation of a noncaseating granuloma of unknown cause. In addition, sarcoidosis can be associated with polyclonal hyperglobulinemia, hypercalcemia, cutaneous anergy, in vitro depressed cell-mediated immunity, and circulating immune complexes [1].
