Methacrylates present in various types of adhesives have occasionally caused sensitization [1-11]. Here we report on a patient who developed a strong allergic dermatitis from a methacrylate in an adhesive used to fix an electrosurgical earthing plate to the skin during an operation involving electrosurgery.
