The modern treatment of varicose veins of the lower limbs is performed either by tumescent endovenous thermal techniques (laser, radiofrequency, steak) or by techniques called non-thermal non-tumescent (foam ecosclerosis, glue cyanoacrylate, ClariVein®, Phlebogriffe®). Ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy, become daily practice, is validated in the international recommendations in second intention after the endothermic methods but before the surgery. Furthermore, ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy is recommended in first intention for the treatment of recurrent varicose vein. As for the other non-thermal non-tumescent methods, despite a confidential use, their first good results in the short term should not make us neglect them and represent an interesting alternative.
