Foot lesions in diabetics constitute a major public health problem, both because of their morbid clinical consequences, generating severe functional handicaps, and because of their considerable economic consequences, mainly due to recurrent hospitalisations. The proper management of this complication is therefore essential, and involves first and foremost prevention, in particular through therapeutic education of patients. This paper examines the target population for education on the prevention of foot lesions, the main messages to be conveyed, and the methods of delivery.
