The present paper attempts to shed light on dunes dynamics in south-western Tunisia and come under a large-scale research program set up by the Institut des Régions Arides Médenine - Tunisie to work on sand dune stabilisation by means of observation and measurement sites. The paper shows that dunes observed migrated south-west (i.e. towards the Sahara), due to the effect of active predominating winds from north-east and east. After one year observation, the barchan dune migration reached 57.4 m. Observed seasonal barchan dune dynamics demonstrated spring to be the most active period (24 m), followed by summer (17.6 m), autumn (11 m) and winter (3.6 m). The respective predominating wind directions were south, south-westerly, west and south-easterly.
