This study highlighted spatiotemporal annual rainfall patterns in the Algerian Sahara. This involved investigating 23 precipitation stations throughout the study area. The first part of the paper focuses on annual mean raifall representativeness, absolute frequencies, rainfall measured in a standard network, and elevation and geographical corrdinates calculated with digital elevation models. A map of spatial distributions of annual rainfall was drawn up on the basis of this relation. We also studied the time-course of daily maximal rainfall and monthly concentations.
