The semiarid areas of Tunisia have known many periods of droughts characterised by deficient rainfall and extremely weak flows of the main oueds of catchment. During the dry periods, surface water resources, and consequently stock volumes, undergo a clear diminution. It sometimes becomes difficult to satisfy water demand, especially that devoted to agriculture. In order to better manage this situation, it is needed to estimate indicators such as the characterising of the drought and the climatic factors. This paper aims at identifying and characterising the meteorological and hydrological drought factors applied to the Siliana area and studies the effects of the first factor on the second.
