Employer-sponsored complementary health insurance

Sciences Sociales et Santé. Volume 24, Number 3, 95-120, Septembre 2006, Sciences Sociales et Santé

Résumé   Article gratuit

Author(s) : Pascale Turquet

Summary : Collective agreements in company are today in France the first mode of obtaining a complementary health insurance. Work of the IRDES shows that contracts of company appear more advantageous and of better quality for their recipients than individual contracts. In order to better understand the disparities as regards access to this type of device between individual and collective the results of a qualitative investigation devoted to the complementary cover of the expenses of health in company are restored here to some extent. One is interested particularly in the reasons for which the companies chose to adopt such contracts, with the details of implementation like to the guarantees thus obtained. One wonders finally about the consequences of a possible development of the private insurance.
