National Immunization Program represents the national vaccination policy which is defined by the ministry of Health after consultation of the “Haut Conseil de santé publique” French national immunization program has been simplified in 2013 with the goal to optimize the number of doses needed to confer protection. Only Diphteria, Tetanus and Poliomyelitis vaccine are mandatory. All the others are recommended for different indications. French national immunization program for infants is following: vaccination against Diphteria (D), Tetanos (T), Pertussis (Ca), Poliomyelitis (P), Invasive Infection due to Hæmophilus b (Hib) with a Pentavalent vaccine or an hexavalent vaccine if hepatitis B vaccine is added, in a “2+1” schedule: 2 doses at 2 and 4 months of age respectively and a booster at eleven months of age for these 5 or 6 vaccines. At the same time but in separate sites, Conjugated Pneumococcal Vaccine 13 is recommended. Vaccination against Measles, Mumps and Rubella is recommended with two doses: the first one at twelve months of age and the second between 16 and 18 months of age. Vaccination against meningococcal serogroup C infection is recommended at 12 months of age: one dose of conjugate meningococcal C vaccine. For children and teans: A booster against D, T, Ca, P is recommended at 6 years of age using DTCaP tetravalent vaccine and at 11-13 years of age, using a dTcaP with decreased concentration of d and ca antigens. This last booster can be co-administred with the first dose of HPV vaccine recommended in girls between 11 and 14 years of age (catch-up program until 19 years of age).
