Sang Thrombose Vaisseaux. Volume 22, Number 9, 449-56, novembre 2010, Mini-revue

Résumé   Article gratuit

Author(s) : Hervé Trillaud

Summary : Uterine fibroids are a major public health care problem, occurring in women before menopause. Conservative options are developed to avoid hysterectomy which is frequently performed for fibroids. Myomectomies are minimally invasive option but can be used only with fibroids in specified location and size. Uterine artery embolization is an alternative for treating a wider range location and size of fibroids. This approach has demonstrated good results combined with low morbidity and mortality when compared with the surgical alternatives.

Keywords : uterine fibroids, uterine artery embolisation
