Summary : A clinical picture of acute heart failure with high blood pressure was described by TG Pickering et al. in 1988, revealing bilateral renal artery stenosis, or unilateral stenosis with one functional kidney. These “flash pulmonary oedemas” are often recurrent, standing in contrast with a preserved basal cardiac function. Angioplasty and stenting of the main artery stenosis is beneficial in most cases allowing improvement and no recurrence of the pulmonary oedema. |
