Familial intracranial aneurysms

Summary : About 10% of intracranial aneurysms are familial. Familial intracranial aneurysms are divided in two groups: firstly familial intracranial aneurysms without any associated disorders, non mendelian inheritance, a gene located to 7q (7q11); the second group is characterised by association of aneurysms and other disorders such as polycystic kidneys with mendelian inheritance. Medical care of patients and screening of risk relatives diagnosis is not well defined.
