Can we preserve ovarian function using GnRH analogues during chemotherapy?

MT / médecine de la reproduction, gynécologie et endocrinologie. Volume 10, Number 4, 250-4, juillet-août 2008, Revue

Résumé   Article gratuit

Author(s) : Nathalie Chabbert-Buffet

Summary : Dramatic therapeutic advances have led to an increase in survival rates after cancer. Quality of life has become and remains a major problem, mostly fertility after chemotherapy. Ovarian side effects of chemotherapy in young women raise two main questions: what about the impact on future fertility and what are the consequences on the endocrine ovarian function in terms of advanced menopause and effects in the short and long run (quality of life, osteoporosis and vascular complications)?

Keywords : chemotherapy, fertility, ovarian function, advanced menopause, quality of life, osteoporosis
