(Therapeutic) Education of the patient in general practice

Médecine. Volume 8, Number 3, 123-8, Mars 2012, Concepts et outils

Résumé   Article gratuit

Author(s) : Cécile Fournier, Claude Attali

Summary : The modalities of implementation of the TEP in the HPST law still need to be clarified on the basis of HCSP recommendations. The development of integrated TEP in primary care currently faces several obstacles including the lack of time, the lack of professional support groups or multidisciplinary works, inadequate medical training and continuing education, or a misunderstanding by patients. However, this development is favored by positive elements such as the interest shown by physicians and other health professionals, the patients' satisfaction and the support from some health authorities who encourage research. Working on the conditions of development for these practices should ensure their quality and accessibility for patients throughout the territory.
