Summary : The turmoil on Mediator® forces us to reconsider the assessment procedures of the drug, the missions of various French agencies such as the Afssaps and of several Health agencies, the organization of pharmacovigilance and the methods of medical information. Dozens of specialized medical fields have been or will be withdrawn. In most cases, the “new” drugs for 2011 in primary care are related to old drugs and provide little originality: there is no innovative drug. They are more numerous in certain specialties.
