Summary : The treatment of migraine patient must be individualized according to the characteristics and frequency of seizures, known triggers, and sensitivity to the placebo effect. The management of the crisis must be quick, effective and if possible without recurrence, through various non-specific analgesics and specific treatments (ergotamine derivatives and triptans). Preventive migraine treatments can reduce the frequency and intensity of attacks. The basic guidelines are in the use of a long term healthy lifestyle, a migraine diary, looking for triggers and taking into account the psychological factors. The choice of a preventive migraine treatment, usually medicated, will come in second intention. Various non-pharmacological treatments can be considered.
