Migraine; “Effective” questions for practice

Médecine. Volume 6, Number 9, 419-24, Novembre 2010, Concepts et outils

Résumé   Article gratuit

Author(s) : Anne-Claire Benoteau

Summary : Migraine is an extremely common disease. Its prevalence in France was estimated in the FRAMIG survey with over 11% in terms of migraine in the strict sense, a further 10% suffering from probable migraine. The characteristics of a diagnosis based solely on clinical data, the multiple tables encountered, frequent entanglement with the “tension headache”, another recurrent primary headache, the difficulty of care, between beliefs, compliance and self-limitation, the variability of effects of treatments commercially available, the notion of chronic illness that requires patient education to manage crises and their treatment, all those remain difficult questions to be resolved.

Keywords : headache, migraine disorders, risk
