Summary : Nowadays, indication for mitral repair occurs earlier in patients, who present mitral insufficiency. Last years, mitral repair guided by echocardiography, made a lot of progresses, using technics more and more standardized. Mitral repair procedures include more and more sub-valvular approach and the use of artificial chordae. 3 D echocardiography will take an important place to help surgeons to repair mitral valve, but this place remains to be defined. |
