Summary : Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is the most frequent neuro-psycho-developmental disorder in childhood, affecting 5.6% of school-aged children [3]. In the absence of a diagnosis, ADHD induces suffering both at home and at school because ADHD children are stigmatized and rejected. In half the cases of children diagnosed as ADHD it was the parents who initiated the search for a diagnosis, often after several years of misdiagnosis. It is necessary to create a classification to better understand the disorder and to help these children. The cognitive handicap induced by ADHD must be recognized to give ADHD children the special care they need, to ensure their performance in school and later in a job and to make available to them the possibility of a satisfying, good quality of life. |
