Résumé   Article gratuit

Author(s) : Patrick Légeron

Summary : Professional stress. All the studies confirm it. Stress is becoming a major concern in the occupational field as it now strikes modern industrial societies all over the world. Along with important negative consequences on workers’ health and well being, it also impairs company performance, economy and productivity. Action on stress can be organized on several axis: evaluative axis (assessing stress levels of individuals, following their evolution), organizational axis (settling an antistress policy, reorganizing work and redefining tasks), managerial axis (developing a managerial policy and culture not only oriented towards performance but also to the well-being) and individual axis (training individuals to develop skills to manage stress and helping them to increase their resistance to stress). Actions on stress must promote not only individual fulfilment but also his performance. This is in this double optic they can receive everyone’s adhesion and mobilization.

Keywords : stress, work, psychosocial risks, occupational health, management, assessment
