Summary : Assessment of social intelligence in children. Presentation of a clinical assessment scale : EASE (Scale for social adaptation in children).Ability at social skills in daily life was examined in a group of normal children. The aim was to establish standard values for the EASE scale. 327 normal children of different age groups were tested. The results revealed the significant influence of age in the development of mentalisation and confirmed that this capacity is acquired between 3 and 5 years old. Normative values could thus be established. As a result, the EASE scale can now be put forward as a diagnostic instrument to differentiate between language and personality disorders in young children such as PDDs (atypical autism in particular) and SLDs.
