Résumé   Article gratuit

Author(s) : Christian Gay

Summary : The use of psycho-educative schemes in treating thymic disorders.Bipolar illness is a severe and debilitating illness. It is the cause of much suffering for the patients and their families. It has been shown that psycho-reeducation psychotherapies decrease relapses and rehospitalizations. Psycho-reeducation is based on education and structured information of the patients and their families. The main goals are to learn the patients how to recognize the disorder and become compliant to the treatment, to establish a therapeutic alliance, to prevent relapses, to act on causal environmental factors, to manage daily life, and to limit the consequences of the disorder.

Keywords : bipolar disorders, psycho-reeducation
