l'Information Psychiatrique. Volume 81, Number 2, 125-33, Février 2005, Psychotropes, efficacité, efficience

Résumé   Article gratuit

Author(s) : Georges Jovelet

Summary : Prescription: a ethics for efficacity? The psychiatric therapeutic corpus is based on theoretical principles, clinical experiments and care methods including empiricism: the processes at work, whether in the psychotherapeutic approach or in physical treatment, cannot be entirely elucidated, since a gap remains between theory and its applications. Alienist F. Leuret had developed a theorical model of practice aiming only efficacy. His doctrinal proposals will be studyied, this notwithstanding opinion regarding his therapeutic choices. Prescription will be considered in line with psychiatric cure strategies, according to their actual finality and stake, in particular regarding standardized answers. What are the consequences in terms of the prescriber’s position and of a system of ethics for prescription?

Keywords : prescription, therapy, ethics, function, causality, empiricism, pragmatism, theory, demand, power
