Residential treatment in child psychiatry

l'Information Psychiatrique. Volume 80, Number 3, 229-33, Mars 2004, L‘hôpital en question

Résumé   Article gratuit

Author(s) : Yvan Halimi, Elisabeth Cantin‐Peyrac, Marie Prado, Marion Chirio, Flore Guillemot

Summary : How can one describe the specific care function of full‐time hospitalization? Drawing on their own experiences, the authors strive to find some partial answers to this question on which to hang their etiological myths. They propose the term "residential treatment" for a type of care that is very useful within the panoply of paedopsychiatric therapies. This concept of care combines three aspects: the prescription of expiation\; the integration of self\; the impasses of social integration.

Keywords : child and adolescent psychiatry, care function, hospitalization.
