Unitary drug intake index (IUPM) and socio‐demographic profile of anxiolytics

l'Information Psychiatrique. Volume 80, Number 1, 57-60, Janvier 2004, PSYCHOPHARMACOVIGILANCE

Résumé   Article gratuit

Author(s) : Gabriela Charrassin, Guy Ardiet, Emmanuel Amsallem, Bernard Lachaux

Summary : The unitary drug intake index is a unit of measurement calculated in relation to the maximum dosage authorized for a given product by the Vidal dictionary. Its value indicates what percentage of this maximum authorized dosage of a product has been prescribed. Its great advantage is that it allows for a quantitative and comparative global measurement of medical combinations. Its use in this study highlighted two different profiles for consumers of anxiolytics, depending on whether unitary drug intake index is lower or higher than 0.5.

Keywords : anxiolytics, dosages, association of drugs.
