Diffusion MRI, a new tool for abdominal imaging

Summary : Diffusion weighted imaging MRI, has been recently used in digestive oncology. Detection of tumoral lesions is based on hypercellularity of cancerous tissue. Diffusion MRI Imaging can be useful for liver metastasis detection, peritoneal implant detection, bone metastasis detection and to predict tumour response to therapy. This sequence can be added to a standard abdominal MR protocol.
