Coping with sudden unexplaned death of an epileptic patient in institution

Summary : Sudden unexplained death (SUDEP) is one of the worse events that may occur in an institution. It will generate a crisis implying the other patients, the family and the care givers. Its management consists in a “honest” explanation of our knowledge on this pathology and of the unkwown, reinforcement of the rigour in the organization of care and targeted information of the patients and their family.
