Summary : The authors describe the case of iatrogenic, disseminated Kaposi’s sarcoma, in a 63-year-old woman treated for 35 years with prednisone for bronchial asthma. After 26 years of treatment, steroid diabetes mellitus developed. This case supports the view that immunosuppression induced by prednisone may be a risk factor for Kaposi’s sarcoma, probably in genetically susceptible patients. |
