ARTICLE
It is once again time for me to sit down and write the editorial for
the first issue of the year and it is with great pleasure that I can report
another successful year for the EJD.
At the recent Board Meeting in Prague, Czech Republic, we were pleased
to be able to report that the impact factor of the journal continues to
increase, as does the number of countries contributing articles and indeed
the number of articles we receive. While the majority of articles are
received from Europe, Japan and the USA, we have also accepted articles
from countries as far apart as Taiwan, Iran and Mexico over the past year.
An increasing number of investigative reports and therapy reports have
been published over the past twelve months. Short, interesting points
are now published as vignettes.
A new co-editor, Ramon Pujol, is welcomed to the Spanish editorial office,
replacing Jose-Manuel Mascaro who has been forced to resign, due to the
pressure of an ever-increasing work-load. We would like to thank Jose-Manuel
for the creation of a thriving Spanish office and look forward to the
new collaboration with Ramon. We are also pleased to strengthen our links
with Austrian dermatologists with the appointment of Helmut Kerl as a
member of the Scientific Board.
To all our readers and authors, the whole world over, I wish an active
and productive 2003.
