Summary : A 72-year-old female presented with a painful lesion on the left thumb. The lesion had grown slowly over a period of 50 years. On examination, a purplish nodule of about 0.6 cm in diameter was seen subungually on her left thumb; the lesion was tender (Fig. 1). The rest of the physical examination was unremarkable.
