Summary : More than 20 human papillomavirus (HPV) types are sexually transmittable [1, 2]. Two disease entities exist: a) benign anogenital warts (condylomata acuminata or condylomas) associated with non-oncogenic ("low-risk") HPVs (genotypes 6 and 11 found in > 90% of cases); and b) intraepithelial neoplasia (IN) associated with oncogenic ("high-risk") HPVs (genotypes 16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, etc.) |
