Usefulness of a pharmacokinetic approach for clinical antineoplastic chemotherapy evaluation

Bulletin du Cancer. Volume 86, Number 4, 341-4, Avril 1999, Méthodologie

Résumé   Article gratuit

Author(s) : François Lokiec

Summary : Pharmacokinetics, which is the study of the drug becoming in the body, is an important approach of new drug evaluation. Anticancer drugs have mostly a very narrow therapeutic index which leads to a delicate clinical use. Pharmacokinetics permits the prediction of the occurrence of iatrogenic toxicities taking into account the interpatient variability of the pharmacokinetic parameters.

Keywords : pharmacokinetics, anticancer drugs, pharmacokinetic parameters.
