Summary : Breast reconstruction is evolving towards immediate reconstruction (IBR). Adjuvant radiotherapy remains an esthetical contraindication to classical techniques due to complication rate (capsular contracture, flap necrosis and contracture). Tissue expansion combined with radiotherapy must be evaluated. IBR quality of life raises the issue of its evaluation. IBR current limits seem to be psychological. The quality of preoperative information will determine IBR real life experience. |
