The patients seem to expect a lot from their general practitioner (GP) in terms of medical information (MI). The waiting room of the GP represents the first step before consulting; it is sometimes used to provide this information. This study proposes to explore the perception of the patients of MI delivered in the waiting room of the GP. The medical information received is affected by several factors. When the relationship between a GP and his patient is satisfactory, the transmission of information is easier. Depending on the reason for consulting or if they think they wait for too long, the patients can feel anxieties or unpleasantness while waiting so that it is not the right moment for them to get informed. The social interactions in the waiting room can interfere with the perception of information. According to the patients, their GP should be more involved and control this information that should be in limited quantity, in a dedicated space, updated on new topics, preventive or referring to the local associations. It must not be imposed but proposed in the continuity of the patient-doctor relationship.
